Just Milkফ্রি তো ফ্রি!

A trip to Publix for one carton of milk meets a buy one get one free sign. Free is free, and the kitchen table pays for it.

Five panels at a Publix supermarket in Florida. In the wide first panel a woman in a black hijab and pink top pushes an empty cart toward the entrance, thinking in Bangla that today she will just buy milk and leave. A sign beside the door reads good food, brighter days. In the next panel she stands in the dairy aisle holding a jug of two percent milk and says, milk, done. In the panel beside it she has spotted a large red BOGO buy one get one free sign and is holding up two boxes of Cheerios, saying BOGO and then in Bangla that free is free. In the wide fourth panel she is at the checkout with a cart piled high with cereal, chips, juice, ice cream and produce, humming to herself while the cashier smiles and the register screen reads another great day at Publix. In the large final panel the kitchen table at home is buried under grocery bags and food, and a man with glasses and a beard stands with both hands on his head asking in Bangla, you said you were only bringing milk.
